Core Web Vitals
A set of Google metrics measuring real-world user experience for loading performance, interactivity, and visual stability.
Core Web Vitals (CWV) are a set of specific metrics that Google uses to measure real-world user experience on web pages. They became a ranking factor in 2021 and focus on three key aspects: loading performance, interactivity, and visual stability.
The three Core Web Vitals are: Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), which measures how quickly the main content loads (should be under 2.5 seconds); Interaction to Next Paint (INP), which measures responsiveness to user interactions (should be under 200 milliseconds); and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), which measures visual stability and unexpected layout shifts (should be under 0.1).
Poor Core Web Vitals can negatively impact your search rankings, especially on mobile. Google uses field data from real Chrome users (Chrome UX Report) to evaluate your site's performance. This means your actual users' experiences matter, not just synthetic lab tests.
Improving Core Web Vitals requires technical optimizations like image optimization, efficient code delivery, proper resource prioritization, and stable layouts. SERPView integrates Chrome UX Report and PageSpeed data directly into your dashboard, making it easy to monitor these vital metrics alongside your search performance.
