Topic Clusters

A content strategy that groups related content around a central pillar page to establish topical authority and improve SEO.

Topic clusters are a content organization strategy where you create a comprehensive "pillar" page covering a broad topic, then create multiple related "cluster" pages that dive deeper into specific subtopics. All cluster pages link back to the pillar page, and the pillar page links to all clusters.

This strategy helps establish topical authority by demonstrating to search engines that you have comprehensive coverage of a subject area. Instead of having isolated blog posts competing against each other, you create a structured content hub that signals expertise on the topic.

For example, a pillar page about "SEO" might link to cluster pages on "keyword research," "link building," "technical SEO," "content optimization," and "local SEO." Each cluster page would link back to the main SEO pillar page and potentially to related clusters.

SERPView's Track Topic Clusters feature lets you group keywords and content by topic area, so you can monitor how well your content clusters perform collectively. This helps you identify which topic areas are driving the most traffic and where you might need to create additional content to strengthen your topical authority.
