Domain Authority (DA) is a metric developed by Moz that predicts how well a website will rank in search engine results. It's scored on a scale from 1 to 100, with higher scores indicating greater ability to rank.

DA is calculated using multiple factors including the number and quality of backlinks, the linking root domains, and other signals. It's important to understand that Domain Authority is not a Google ranking factor – it's a third-party metric created to help SEOs assess website authority.

While DA itself doesn't directly impact rankings, the factors that contribute to a high DA score (strong backlinks, quality content, etc.) do influence rankings. It's best used as a comparative metric – comparing your DA to competitors' DA – rather than as an absolute measure of success.

Building domain authority requires a long-term strategy focused on creating high-quality content, earning natural backlinks from authoritative sites, improving technical SEO, and maintaining a strong online presence. Remember that DA is just one of many metrics to consider in your overall SEO strategy.
