CTR Benchmark Report:
See Which Results Underperform
Compare the CTR of every query in the top 10 against a CTR benchmark for its ranking position. The CTR Benchmark Report shows your click-through rate, the expected rate and the difference, so you know which titles and snippets to rewrite first.

Why a Good Ranking
Still Misses Clicks
A page can hold a strong position and still lose clicks to the results around it. Without a benchmark, a low CTR looks normal.
CTR Without Context
A 4% CTR is strong at position 8 and weak at position 2. Search Console shows the number, but not whether it is good for that position.
Guessing What to Rewrite
You know some titles and descriptions could be better, but not which ones are actually costing you clicks.
Spreadsheet Benchmarks
Matching every query to a CTR curve by hand means exports, lookup tables and formulas that break when the data changes.
Hidden Page Problems
When several pages rank for one query, an average hides which URL has the weak snippet.
Unfair Comparisons
Comparing CTR across keywords at different positions makes top-ranking keywords look great and the rest look broken.
Lost Clicks at the Top
Queries in the top 3 get the most impressions, so even a small CTR gap there costs more clicks than anywhere else.
Your CTR, Measured
Against Its Position
The report reads your Search Console data for the date range you pick and puts your CTR next to a benchmark for the same position, query by query and page by page.
Position-Based Benchmark
The benchmark starts at 27.6% for position 1 and falls to 2.4% for position 10, based on published Google CTR statistics. Positions in between are interpolated, so 2.5 gets its own value.
CTR Difference per Query
Each query shows your CTR, the benchmark for its average position and the difference, in green when you beat the benchmark and red when you fall short.
Per-Page Breakdown
Expand a query to see every URL that ranks for it, with its own clicks, impressions, position, CTR, benchmark and difference.

Frequently Asked
Questions
Everything you need to know about the CTR Benchmark Report in SERPView.
A CTR benchmark is the click-through rate a result can expect at a given position in Google. Results at position 1 get far more clicks than results at position 10, so a CTR is only good or bad compared with the benchmark for its position.
SERPView uses a CTR curve based on published Google CTR statistics: 27.6% for position 1, 15.7% for position 2, 11% for 3, 8.4% for 4, 6.3% for 5, 4.9% for 6, 3.9% for 7, 3.3% for 8, 2.7% for 9 and 2.4% for 10. Average positions between two whole positions get an interpolated value.
Only queries that rank in the top 10. A query is listed when at least one of its pages has an average position of 10 or better and those pages earned at least one click in the selected date range.
For each query, SERPView sums the clicks and impressions of its pages in the top 10, averages their CTR and position, and looks up the benchmark for that average position. The difference is your CTR minus the benchmark, shown in green when it is positive and red when it is negative.
Yes. Expand a query to see every URL that ranks for it, each with clicks, impressions, position, CTR, its own benchmark and the difference. URLs with a # jump link are left out.
The report includes tips: write clearer titles and meta descriptions, keep title tags between 40 and 60 characters, prefer positive titles over negative or neutral ones, and improve your position, since higher positions get more clicks.
The report uses your own Google Search Console data for the date range you choose. If you have connected Bing Webmaster Tools, you can switch the data source to Bing. Your dashboard filters apply to the report.
Yes. Add the CTR Benchmark Report to a scheduled email report to get a PDF with up to 100 queries from the last 7 days. If you connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any other MCP client to SERPView over MCP (Model Context Protocol), your assistant can fetch the report too.
