Why AI Assistants Can't
Answer Your SEO Questions Yet
AI assistants are great at analysis, but they can't see your search data. Getting it to them is slow, manual and out of date the moment you paste it.
Copy-Paste Exports
You export CSVs from Search Console, paste them into a chat and hit the context limit before the analysis even starts.
Stale Snapshots
The numbers in the chat are from whenever you last exported, so every follow-up question needs a fresh download.
Data Spread Across Tools
Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, GA4 and indexing data live in different places, and the assistant sees none of them together.
Reports Rebuilt by Hand
Cannibalization, striking distance or content decay analysis has to be rebuilt from raw rows every time you want the AI to look at it.
Unsafe Integrations
Sharing account passwords or broad API access with an AI tool is risky when you only want it to read your analytics.
Busywork Stays Manual
Even after the AI suggests new topic clusters or brand terms, you still have to click through the dashboard to create them.
Everything Your Assistant Needs,

Indexing Status and Requests

Claude and ChatGPT Connector
Add the MCP URL as a custom connector in Claude (web, desktop and mobile) or as an app in ChatGPT developer mode, and sign in through an OAuth consent screen.
MCP Keys for Other Clients
Create up to 10 named MCP keys, install with a one-line command on macOS, Linux or Windows or a JSON config, and revoke any key at any time.
Editing Only When You Allow It
Read-only by default. Turn on Allow Editing to let the assistant add or remove branded keywords and create, update or delete topic clusters and content groups.

Frequently Asked
Questions
Everything you need to know about the SERPView MCP server.
It is a server that speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard AI assistants use to call external tools. It gives assistants like Claude and ChatGPT access to your SERPView data: search analytics, GA4, indexing, reports and workspace settings.
Yes. SERPView works as a Google Search Console MCP server: your AI agent can query your GSC clicks, impressions, CTR and positions, check indexing status and run SEO reports. On top of GSC it also gives the agent your Bing Webmaster Tools and GA4 data.
Open-source Search Console MCP servers usually run on your own machine and need a Google Cloud project, the Search Console API and service account credentials. SERPView is hosted: you sign in with the Google account you already connected, then add SERPView as a connector in Claude or ChatGPT, or use an MCP key. You also get Bing and GA4 data, ready-made SEO reports, and write tools that stay off until you turn on Allow Editing.
The dashboard has step-by-step setup for Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Claude mobile, through a custom connector) and ChatGPT (as an app in developer mode). Cursor and any other agent that supports MCP can connect too: create an MCP key and add the JSON config from your dashboard (it uses the standard mcpServers format with mcp-remote), or point the client at the MCP URL with your key as a Bearer token.
There are two ways. With the MCP Connector, paste the SERPView MCP URL into your assistant's connector settings and approve access on the SERPView consent screen (OAuth 2.1 with PKCE). With MCP Keys, create a key under Account, MCP Keys, then run the one-line installer for macOS, Linux or Windows, or paste the JSON config into your client.
Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools analytics, GA4 data for properties with a linked GA4 property, indexing status, your content groups, topic clusters and SEO tests, and 12 SERPView reports. It only sees properties connected to your account.
Only if you allow it. Editing is off by default. When you turn on Allow Editing, the assistant can add or delete branded keywords and create, update or delete topic clusters and content groups. These are the only account settings it can change. Indexing requests are a separate tool, covered below.
Yes, for properties with an active indexing slot in SERPView. The request_indexing tool checks the URL with Google's URL Inspection API and requests indexing if the page is not indexed yet. It uses your daily API quota, so use it for important pages.
Up to 10 active keys per account, each with its own name. A key is shown only once when you create it, and you can revoke or delete it at any time.
The connector uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and a consent screen where you allow or deny access, and access tokens expire after one hour. MCP keys are sent as a Bearer token and can be revoked at any time.
Search analytics queries return up to 500 rows per request, with 100 as the default. Assistants can filter by query, page, date, device and country and run several queries in a row.
You can create MCP keys and connect an assistant from your account settings. Report tools follow the same plan rules as the reports in the dashboard, so premium reports return an upgrade message on the Free plan.
